I started Pilates with Paula about one and a half years ago, and I can say that I am totally hooked on it. I finally found an activity that forces my body to work all different type of muscles, mainly abs, without being boring or too hard and yet still being extremely rewarding in terms of results. For the first time in my life, I have almost a flat belly, my back is extremely strong and my legs feel good.
Every Monday and Wednesday, I’m looking forward to my session with Paula. She is extremely professional and always in a good mood. She comes with different programs every time, and she is watching you, correcting you, encouraging you during the whole session. While it is impossible to cheat with Paula, she also always knows when to stop the repetitions so that you are constantly pushed but never in pain.
I’m also an avid golfer and my handicap/index has improved by 50% last year, bringing it into single digit. I’m convinced that my new core strength and my strong balance are a big part of this improvement. Three of my golfing friends are now addicted to Pilates.
And finally, last November, while on vacation (See picture), my husband gave me the best compliment I’ve ever heard: he said that I had a nice athletic body... So for ever I will say: GO PILATES, GO PAULA!
I started pilates about 1 year ago and have found myself becoming stronger, more flexible and more aware of all the muscles in my body. Paula is a great instructor who inspires and challenges her clients. With her help, I have developed strength, balance and poise.
Pilates with Paula has been a rewarding experience. I had practiced the conventional methods of exercise such as weight training, cardio, circuit training etc., but found that though I got stronger, I also “bulked up.” At Centered Pilates, with Paula’s help not only have I gotten stronger, but the surprising result is that my body shape is becoming leaner and more toned—which for a 56 year-old woman is not easy to obtain. By strengthening my stomach and back muscles, my posture has also improved. I am constantly surprised that by doing small movements you can get big results. Paula is a wonderful, knowledgeable, and patient teacher—I am so glad I found her!
I have worked with Paula for the past 6 months. I enjoy the experience because the routines are never the same so I don’t get bored. I originally had an old knee injury that bothered me for a year before I came to Paula’s studio. She tailored my workouts to strengthen above and below my knee and it worked. I no longer have any knee pain and am back doing all activities I love!
The stretching and strengthening exercises are also very good for your posture and overall core strength. Paula customizes your routine for each day depending on how your body feels. It has really helped me get stronger and I enjoy the changes in how my body looks. Thank you Paula.
Pilates with Paula is the best thing I have done for my physical fitness in a long time. I am in my early 50’s, ride horses and compete in endurance. My core body strength is so much stronger with Pilates and my riding has improved 200% as a result. If you ride horses - take Pilates from Paula!
She really put together a program customized for what I wanted to accomplish. Even though she kicks my butt in my sessions, I enjoy them because she is so encouraging, helpful and positive. I just can’t argue with the results!
I always look forward to my Monday morning Pilates class with Paula. She has been such a help in my quest of enjoying life and doing as much as I can, as long as I can. I have been working with Paula for nearly two years, both on a private level and at mat classes. When I learned about her studio, I was struggling with aches and pains that I didn’t used to have, in places that had never bothered me before. Just like many women in their 50’s, the years of not using my body correctly were catching up to me and I knew from watching my mother and her friends that if I didn’t get on top of these issues, they would become permanent and debilitating. Through careful, precise and attentive instruction, Paula is guiding me on the right way to move and exercise my body. She has made me aware of my core muscle groups and her voice stays with me throughout the day - especially when I feel myself slipping back to old habits of using the wrong muscles at the wrong time.
Pilates is a process that takes time and a devoted instructor. Paula is that devoted instructor - she provides the perfect combination of experience and a genuine desire to help people feel better.
I am a firm believer in Pilates. I am 73 years old and had started feeling the stiffness of age. I started Pilates a couple of years ago and I can’t begin to tell you how much It has improved my ability to get up from chairs and in and out of the car. It has improved my balance and posture as well. I have especially noticed a difference under your guidance, Paula. On top of that — it’s a fun class!
I worked out with Paula for about 6 months when she was starting her Pilates business. I was running and doing other cardiovascular workouts, but wasn’t doing any strength training or stretching. I had done some mat Pilates before, but I had never used any of the machines. Paula was great with educating me on all of the machines, as well as explaining all of the exercises and what they were for. I learned how to breathe correctly, how to sit up straight, and many other things I use each day through out the day. I really felt an increase in my core body strength, and enjoyed my one on one time with Paula.
Paula is so passionate about the body; learning how it works and how to challenge it. My experience with Paula at Centered was wonderful. Every week I looked forward to each new challenge she had prepared specifically for my body. I felt strong and solid after only a few sessions. Pilates is a beautiful form of exercise, and Paula’s skills as an instructor add to that beauty.
I have been taking private lessons from Paula at Centered and I love it. I have never been a fan of traditional exercise and I hate to go to the gym, so when a friend suggested trying pilates, I decided to give it a shot. Before we began, Paula asked me questions about my body and my lifestyle and took the time to listen to my goals and create a program designed to meet my specific needs. I have noticed a huge difference in my body! I feel stronger and no longer feel most of the aches and pains in my shoulders and hips that I once felt. My core strength has improved so much that I am no longer compensating by putting undo pressure on other parts of my body. I recently started taking a mat class and I am enjoying it as well. Besides being functional, the facility is also really beautiful — warm and inviting. Thanks Paula!
I love my pilates private lesson at this studio. Paula is very positive and knowledgeable. With her guidance and encouragement I've watch my body become stronger and more flexible. My chronic back pain is gone and I am toned all over. I am never bored unlike most fitness classes, because Paula is always introducing new, fun and increasingly challenging exercises. To top it off, Centered Studio has a beautiful spa like atmosphere. I am hooked
